Quickstart

From an open Illustrator file to a guideline website in five steps. Illustrator 2025 (v29) or newer, on Mac or Windows.

  1. Install the extension

    Download Linyal-0.9.0.zxp and install it with a ZXP installer app, or with one of the command lines on the Install page. Then open Illustrator and choose Window › Extensions (legacy) › Linyal.

  2. Select the mark

    Select the mark in your document. Inspect lists what it found under Findings, and every measurement under Specs.

  3. Draw construction and clear space

    Choose what to show, then Draw construction. The circles, axes and tangents go on a locked layer called Linyal Construction.

    Pro. Drawing into the document is Pro, open to everyone until 31 January 2027. On Free, the Construction tab shows the live preview.

  4. Save as brand logo, then Present

    Save as brand logo keeps the measured mark in your document. In Present, check the colours and fonts, add the mission, values and a contact address, then export the guideline website, its PDF, the logo files and the tokens.

  5. Write the handover report

    Present’s last step, Handover, writes a page and a PDF for your client: what was checked, which file to use where, and answers to their questions. Pro.
