Handover report
The handover report is a page and a PDF for your client: what was checked in the logo, which file to use where, and answers to the questions clients ask after a handover. It is signed by your studio; it names Linyal only if you add the line.
Before you start
- Save the logo with Save as brand logo in Inspect.
- Export the logo files. The report lists them, and says which one to use where.
- For the Room around it and Smallest size cards, state the clear space and both minimum sizes in Present › Details.
Export the logo files first. The report lists them.
How to use it
Open Handover
In Present, choose Handover. What it says lists what the report will tell your client: Artwork, Geometry, Drawing, Shapes, Colours, Clear space, Minimum size and Files. A row your client would read as something to fix is marked.
Say who it is for and from
Fill in For, Contact, From, Designer and Questions to. Edit the Note, or keep Linyal’s. Choose A4 or Letter.
Check the questions
Under Questions it answers, edit, hide or add questions, up to 24. Use Linyal’s words restores a default.
Export the report
Press Export report. It goes beside the logo files, as a page and a PDF.
Written to ~/Clients/Onda/onda-handover, with onda-handover.pdf.
Pro. The handover report is Pro, and it needs the logo files, which are Pro too. Until 31 January 2027, Pro is open to everyone.
What your client gets
- Cover
- A quick guide: for a printer, the PDF; for a website, the SVG; for Office and email, a PNG; on dark or photos, the reversed version.
- Note
- Your note, signed with your name and your studio’s.
- What we checked
- Built on geometry, Drawn cleanly, Solid shapes only, Exact colours, Room around it, Smallest size and Files read back, each with its figures.
- Your files
- Which file to use where, from a website to a sign maker. The printer gets the CMYK print PDF when you wrote one.
- Questions you may have
- Eight answers, from “Which file do I send to a printer?” to “Someone asked for a vector file. Which one is that?”
- Thank you
- Where to send questions, and a link to the guideline website.
What stays off the client’s copy
Findings from checks that are still provisional, and angle figures, are never printed. The Handover screen lists them so you know:
Not on the report · Near radius · 2 findings: a provisional check, so they stay off your client’s copy
With the guideline website
Export the report first, then the site. Studio lists the report under Downloads and Editorial links it in its menu. The report links back to the guideline website when both are in the same folder.
The footer reads “Prepared by” and your studio’s name. To name Linyal as well, tick Add “Measured with Linyal” to the footer; it is off by default.
Limits
- English only. A report exported before 16 October 2026 reads “Out of date” until you export it again.
- The Present home marks the report “Out of date” after some changes that don’t alter it, such as a palette change or exporting the logo files again. Export the report again.
- After a report export, the note “Export the site again to carry this one” shows even when that site carries no report.
- The PDF needs Chrome, Edge or Brave, or Chromium on a Mac. Without one on a Mac, open the print page in Safari and save it as PDF on A4 or Letter.
