Logo files and tokens

Export files writes the logo in colour, mono and reversed, as SVG, PDF and PNG in seven sizes, each framed by its clear space, and a CMYK print PDF painted in the builds you state. Export tokens writes the brand’s colours and fonts for developers.

Before you start

  • Save the logo: Save as brand logo in Inspect, or Measure this logo and Save brand on the Brand screen.
  • For mono and reversed files, map every colour on the Brand screen under Logo variants: Black, White or Itself.
  • For the CMYK print PDF, state each colour’s CMYK build on the Brand screen under Print values.

How to use it

  1. Open Files

In Present, choose Files. It opens the Export screen at Logo files.

  2. Choose what to write

Tick the PNG sizes (16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024 px, all on), the versions (Colour, Mono, Reversed) and CMYK print PDF. The line below counts the files.

    7 sizes × 3 variants = 21 PNGs + 6 vector files
  3. Export files

Press Export files. The files go straight into the export folder.

Pro. Logo files and tokens are Pro; on Free the buttons read “Upgrade to export”. Until 31 January 2027, Pro is open to everyone.

What it writes

onda-colour.svg, .pdf
Vector, at the mark’s own size. Mono and reversed follow the same pattern.
onda-colour-512.png
One PNG per size, the long side exactly that many pixels, with transparency. Each is read back to confirm its size.
onda-print-cmyk.pdf
The CMYK print PDF.
onda-wordmark-colour.svg, .pdf
The wordmark, in colour, when one is saved.

Every file is framed by the brand’s clear space around the mark’s visible edge: the one typed in Details, else the one Inspect measured. Files are made in a temporary document; yours isn’t changed.

Mono and reversed

Each colour becomes what you mapped it to. A stroke whose colour isn’t mapped takes the version’s own ink. A white outline stays white in mono, so the gap between parts shows; in reversed it takes the logo’s colour, and the panel says so:

In the reversed files the white outline takes the logo’s colour, so the parts it keeps apart can run together. Colour and mono keep the gap.

CMYK print PDF

Linyal makes it in a CMYK document of its own and paints each colour with the build you stated, never Illustrator’s conversion of the RGB. White with no build prints as paper, so the material shows. The PDF has no output intent and is not PDF/X; if your printer asks for PDF/X-4, make it from the colour PDF in Illustrator.

When it can’t be made, the other files are still written and the panel says why, such as:

Print PDF left out: no CMYK build is stated for #F5F5F5.
Print PDF left out: part of the mark is a gradient or a pattern, which has no one colour to give a CMYK build.

Every reason, and what to do about it, is in Known limits.

Tokens

  1. Export tokens

Under Tokens, press Export tokens. It needs at least one colour or font on the Brand screen.

onda-tokens.json W3C design tokens (DTCG): color, fontFamily
    onda-tokens.css   :root { --onda-red: #e54b4b; --font-inter: "Inter"; }

Colours and fonts only, with each colour’s name and role.

Limits

  • Files from an earlier export stay in the folder: an old print PDF, versions or PNG sizes you didn’t write this time. Export into an empty folder to start clean.
  • An extra fill or stroke from the Appearance panel keeps its own colour in mono and reversed. Use Object › Expand Appearance, then save the logo again.
  • A gradient or pattern leaves that version out, and the status line only says “1 variant skipped”. Expand it into solid shapes.
  • SVG, PDF and PNG only: no EPS or AI files.
